Compton, Calif. - Freshman outfielder Nick Redick was tabbed the California Community College Baseball Coaches Association (CCCBCA) SoCal Player of the Week for April 15-21, announced Thursday.
In the series against LA Harbor, Redick started all three games in centerfield. He provided an offensive spark, marking him the only Tartar to earn three-hit games in each outing. He amassed nine hits on the week to account for nearly a quarter of the Compton offense, reaching a total of 12 times.
As the leadoff batter, he also earned three RBI and scored three of the team's runs while adding a stolen base. Redick currently leads the team at the plate in conference play, counting the third-most RBI and second-most doubles. He is currently riding a seven-game hitting streak with five of those seven games recorded as multi-hit performances.
In the field, Redick was perfect with 10 putouts and an assist.
Redick joins freshman Danny Hernandez to earn a weekly honor. Hernandez was named the CCCBCA SoCal Pitcher of the Week for March 25-31.
